The band was born from a front porch, a garden full of roses, and the kind of musical connection you don’t find every day. It all started when Caleb was next door, strumming his guitar and singing, while Tarren, Jason, and his mom were tending to roses in the yard. That simple, down-home moment led to new friendships, shared music, and eventually, a band.
Originally performing as Caleb Moses and the Guy Next Door, things shifted when Tarren Keelie—quiet and reserved in most settings—began singing a few songs during shows. Her voice, rich with a timeless tone that felt straight from the vinyl era, struck a chord with everyone who heard it. With Caleb’s expressive, soulful vocal style and Tarren’s classic country twang, their voices naturally complement each other—bringing an old-school heart with a modern edge.
Together, they formed Roses & Weeds with their drummer, blending deep roots in traditional country with their own fresh, personal style. Their sound is built on contrast and harmony—just like the name itself.
The name Roses & Weeds came to Lisa D., now the band’s manager, during a moment of reflection. She remembered that porch-side day and realized how perfectly it symbolized the group’s spirit: sometimes life is roses—bright, blooming, joyful. Sometimes it’s weeds—rough, unexpected, but still growing. Both need love, both can be beautiful, and together they tell a fuller story. The band often jokes about which of them are the “roses” and who are the “weeds,” but really, they each bring both.
Now preparing to release their first duet recorded in Nashville, Roses & Weeds is on a mission to bring back the kind of music that’s real—songs that make you feel something, tell a story, and leave a mark.

Roses & Weeds isn’t just a band — it’s a family. Together with the drummer, The Guy Next Door, and lead singer Tarren Keelie, we’ve built a sound that’s rooted in deep lyrical storytelling, rich harmonies, and energetic live performances. We’re based right here in East Texas, and we’re proud of the music and memories we’re creating together.
We had the amazing opportunity to visit Nashville to work with producer Dean Miller. Getting the chance to collaborate with someone I’ve looked up to is a dream come true. My goal has always been to share my music full-time — playing big stages across the country while staying true to my roots and the people who helped me get here.
This is just the beginning, and I’m thankful for every step of the journey.
I’ve always been the quiet type — shy in a crowd, but full of life once I’m comfortable. Growing up in small-town Texas, I was surrounded by a big, blended, and loving family that taught me the value of faith, hard work, and staying grounded. My mom, dad, stepmom, stepdad, siblings, and nana have all shaped who I am, and I’m so grateful f

My mom, dad, stepmom, stepdad, siblings, and nana have all shaped who I am, and I’m so grateful for their constant encouragement and support.
But it was my granny who lit the spark in me. Some of my favorite memories were made with her — helping in the kitchen, gardening, or hanging clothes on the line while old country records played in the background. We’d listen to Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn, and those simple, old-fashioned moments gave me my love for music and a deep connection to something timeless.
For most of my life, I kept my voice hidden — afraid of what others might think, and unsure if I was even good enough. But after my granny passed, I realized just how short life is and how important it is to live with purpose. With the support of my family, friends, husband, and band mates, I finally found the courage to sing out loud — and I haven’t looked back.
Growing up on those old records gave me a natural twang and a deep love for that classic country sound. Artists like Patsy and Loretta take me right back to days with my granny, and I hope my voice can do the same for others — spark a memory, stir a feeling, or simply touch the soul.
When I’m not singing, I’m happiest outside — planting flowers, digging in the dirt, wandering the woods, or spending time with animals. Nature brings me peace, and so does making music that’s honest and full of heart.
What we’re creating with Roses & Weeds is rooted in comfort, nostalgia, and that raw, real feeling only true country music can give.
